There’s no better way to prepare for your electrical licensing exam than with this online course. If you prefer to work offline, the course is also available on CD. We have condensed two days of live instruction into an online presentation that concentrates solely on what you need to know to pass your exam.
The course
| Course | Description |
Electrical Education (Master Collection) | This is a collection of all the Electrical Education presentations which include:
- Conductor Ampacity - Motor Calculations - Navigating the NEC - Ohm’s Law - Resistor Calculations - Voltage Drop
Most electrical exams require you to perform complicated power questions. These calculations can be simple if you have a clear understanding of Ohm’s law. This interactive module teaches basic principles of math and techniques that will allow you to quickly recall formulas for performing the calculations from a systematic approach. Many questions are provided throughout the lesson to reinforce the learning. Although difficult calculations will be performed during this lesson, our unique program includes an on-screen calculator and a user supplied calculator is not necessary.
| Conductor Ampacity | This lesson is designed to help the user determine the maximum allowable ampacity and overcurrent protection for electrical conductors. This interactive course teaches how to determine the proper application of conductors as well as determining when and where a conductor may be used. During this lesson, many practice questions will be given that will help to develop the skills necessary to pass your exam. As well as conductor ampacity and overcurrent protection, maximum allowable conduit fill is also covered in this lesson. A copy of the National Electrical Code will be needed to complete this portion of our study. Although this study is based on the 2008 edition of the NEC, most earlier versions will be sufficient to answer these questions. Although calculations will be performed during this lesson, our unique program includes an on-screen calculator and a user supplied calculator is not necessary.
| Motor Calculations | The purpose of this lesson is to explain the process of solving difficult motor calculations. During the study, the user will participate in an interactive class that covers most types of questions found on exams relating to motors. 10% - 15% of the questions on most electrical exams relate to motors. Don't let this topic cause you to fail your exam. This disc features voice instruction, built-in calculator, and detailed graphics.
| Navigating the NEC | The objective of this lesson is based on the fact that mastering the skill of using the NEC is imperative for you to pass your exam. You must be able to find answers to difficult questions quickly and efficiently. Upon completion of this course you will have a clear understanding of how the code is organized and you will realize how tricky questions can be. Sample questions are provided throughout the presentation.
| Ohm's Law | This lesson is designed to help the user remember and become proficient in complicated power formulas using Ohm's law. This interactive course teaches methods that make remembering Ohm's law formulas easy and covers the basic principles of mathematics necessary to complete these calculations. During this lesson, many practice questions will be given that will help to develop the skills necessary to pass your exam. Topics covered include calculations of power, current, voltage and resistance. A copy of the National Electrical Code will not be needed for this portion of the study. Although difficult calculations will be performed during this lesson, our unique program includes an on-screen calculator and a user supplied calculator is not necessary.
| Resistor Calculations | This lesson is designed to help the user learn and remember formulas for calculating total resistance of resistive circuits. This interactive course teaches how to perform resistor calculations and also covers the basic principles of mathematics associated with these formulas. During this lesson, many practice questions will be given that will help to develop the skills necessary to pass your exam. Topics covered include series, parallel and combination circuits. A copy of the National Electrical Code will be needed to complete some of the practice questions. Although this study is based on the 2008 edition of the NEC, most earlier versions will be sufficient to answer these questions. Although difficult calculations will be performed during this lesson, our unique program includes an on-screen calculator and a user supplied calculator is not necessary.
| Voltage Drop | This lesson is designed to help the user learn and remember complicated voltage drop formulas. This interactive course teaches how to perform voltage drop calculations and also covers the basic principles of mathematics associated with these formulas. During this lesson, many practice questions will be given that will help to develop the skills necessary to pass your exam. A copy of the National Electrical Code will be needed to complete the practice questions. Although this study is based on the 2008 edition of the NEC, most earlier versions will be sufficient to answer these questions. Although difficult calculations will be performed during this lesson, our unique program includes an on-screen calculator and a user supplied calculator is not necessary.
