Bender Plumbing has grand opening in Waterbury

On May 9, Bender Plumbing Supplies had its grand opening of its first off-site showroom, "Just Add Water." Many builders, architects, contractors and designers attended the affair, which by all accounts was a huge success.

Bender Plumbing Supplies was founded in 1946 in New Haven by Jack Bender. David Bender, Jack's son, has since opened three additional stores in Waterbury, Bridgeport and Hartford turning his six-man operation into a company with over 100 employees, plus 80 times the revenue.

In the early 1980s, Bender Plumbing Supplies became a Kohler distributor. Kohler required that we have a showroom, which was very unusual in the wholesale plumbing industry at the time. This new method of marketing directly to the public ushered in a dramatic change in the entire industry. As time progressed we realized expansion would be necessary due to our growing clientele and the multitude of new products which became available. The showroom was moved from its warehouse location at 145 Cherry Street to its present location at 130 Scott Road in Waterbury.

This unique 6,500 square foot showplace displays a vast selection of bathroom and kitchen products. Our knowledgeable sales representatives are dedicated to making your visit a "one stop shopping" convenient and pleasurable experience. They have added a separate division for the installation of kitchen cabinets and tile, therefore satisfying those customers who prefer not to hire their own subcontractor. They have a wide array of fixtures, faucetry, fireplaces, wall and floor tile, lighting, kitchen cabinets, cabinet hardware and countertops; available in granite, Caesarstone, Corian, Cambria, Zodiac, Silestone and a host of other materials.
